Plastic water bottles should be outlawed! Sorry...my opinion, but when you realize that 1.3 billion plastic water bottles are used everyday with the U.S. using about half of those, and only 12% of the bottles are recycled... AND only 50% of the ones you put in your recycling bin actually make it to the recycling center, you can see there is a global problem.
I'm here to tell you, there are alternatives and it won't required you to stand in line at Target with a bunch of angry soccer moms trying to get a pink Stanley cup!
Aluminum cans have a 69% global recycling rate, so I offer you here three great alternatives if you have a water bottle addiction:
PATH water makes beautiful aluminum bottles of water that you can buy individually at your local supermarket or they come in 9 or 18 count packages that you can order from their website. They also offer sparkling & flavored water. AND you can reuse the can over and over!
Liquid Death - Don't let the name scare you off...this is canned mountain water. The individual cans can be found in 12, 16.9, and 19.2 oz sizes or you can buy them in cases of 8, 12 or 18 count.
Deer Park now has a plastic bottle alternative with their 25 oz. aluminum bottles. I haven't located anywhere (near me) where I can buy these on the spot, so you'll have to order them, but kudos to Deer Park for getting away from plastic bottle.
