Madness On the Brink of Eco-Apocalypse

I admit that I haven’t finished reading - MADNESS ON THE BRINK OF ECO-APOCALYPSE: Furious Facts, Dark Humor & SOS Calls to Action by Cheryl Leutjen. But in order for me to catch up on my reviews (after spending several days hatching chicks) and get back on schedule of posting on Mondays, I’m going to tell you what I know so far after reading several chapters.
Some of you may remember me publishing a post last July about Cheryl’s first book - Love Earth Now. Well, this new book is a follow-up to that book and Cheryl is even angrier now about our environment and climate change! And she wants to know why everyone else isn’t screaming out their windows, “I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore!”
If you’re a lover of the planet and the life on it, than you’ll love reading this book. Cheryl doesn’t just openly express her anger about how overwhelming the whole climate crisis is, and how it would almost take nothing short of a miracle to turn it around at this point, she backs up what she says with facts and sources. Her footnotes are extensive and spread throughout this book are links to organizations and groups that can provide you with much needed information, and also put you in touch with local chapters of environmental groups to help people work on a more global scale since our individual efforts of recycling and composting don’t seem to be creating the worldwide change that we had hoped for.
If you’re a treehugger like me, find a copy of this book, read it and than share it! Every little bit helps…and maybe we’ll have a planet left to feel proud to pass on to our grandchildren.
